Advisors help you make informed decisions about course selection, understand university curriculum, build an academic schedule, and connect with academic resources to be successful throughout your time at Bowling Green State University and beyond.

We highly recommend you reach out to your Academic Advisor and Planner or assigned faculty member, no matter your class standing, prior to scheduling your classes – but if you are a first-time new student or transfer student this semester at BGSU, you will be REQUIRED to meet with your Academic Advisor and Planner prior to registering your classes. If you attempt to register for classes prior to meeting this requirement, you will see a hold on your account.
It is also important for you to know that you are responsible for scheduling your classes. Meeting with an advisor does not mean your classes have been scheduled and they will not schedule your classes for you. Your advisor is here to support you and go over any questions you have, help you understand what course options you have and what courses are required for you to graduate. It is highly recommended that you connect with your Academic Advisor and Planner or assigned faculty member 之前 you register for classes each semester – but the only students who will have a registration hold on their account until a meeting has taken place are new, first-time and transfer students as described below:
